For each section, the number of correct answers is converted to a scale score (31-66) The overall score is calculated as an average of the three sections. Each section of the test equally contributes to the overall score. The TWE (essay) is determined separately and in no way affects your TOEFL score. You will get from 0 to 6 for your essay. The paper-based score is reported to you and to colleges and universities within two weeks after the test. The scores are valid for two years. Overall score: 310-677 Section 1. Listening Comprehension: 31-66 Section 2. Structure and Written Expression: 31-66 Sections 3. Reading Comprehension: 31-66 TWE (essay): 0-6 There is no passing and failing scores in TOEFL. You get what you get. However, you have to think about admission scores to colleges and universities where you are applying. Depending on a school, the required TOEFL score may range from 450 to 630. |
