WHAT IS THE TOEIC?
MBA Center is the leading expert in TOEIC preparation. TOEIC (Test Of English for International Communication) measures English language proficiency for the purposes of international communication in a professional setting. Reliable and accurate, the TOEIC is recognized and accepted by recruiters, employers and educational institutions worldwide. TOEIC is offered as two independent tests: TOEIC L&R (Listening and Reading) and TOEIC S&W (Speaking and Writing). Your recruiter, employer, or school will indicate if you should take one or another or both. TOEIC L&R is a paper-and-pencil multiple-choice test, whereas TOEIC S&W is administered entirely on a computer and uses iBT (Internet-based test) technology. TOEIC L&R Listening Time: 45 minutes Format: 100 multiple-choice questions Topics tested: understanding of spoken English Problem types: Photographs (10 questions), Question-Response (30 questions), Short Conversations (10 dialogues each followed by 3 questions), Short Talks (10 talks each followed by 3 questions) Reading Time: 75 minutes Format: 100 multiple-choice questions Topics tested: reading comprehension, vocabulary, language usage in a professional environment Problem types: Incomplete Sentences (40 questions), Text Completion (3 texts containing 4 questions each), Reading Comprehension (11 to 14 texts each followed by 2 to 5 questions, a total of 48 questions). Score Each of the two TOEIC L&R sections is scored separately on a scale of 5 to 495. The total score therefore ranges from 10 to 990.
