Advanced Business English
Duration: 12 hours in 4 modules
Meetings Module II (3 hours)
Description: Organizing and heading meetings. Making arrangements.
Expressions: Starting, brainstorming, setting objectives, identifying needs, keeping to the point, speeding up, slowing down, making a decision, stating future action, and summarizing.
Grammar: Adverbs. Phrasal verbs II. Modal perfects. Prediction and probability. Idioms.
Presentations Module II (3 hours)
Description: Presentation techniques. Question and Answer Sessions.
English Skills: Structuring the presentation, giving background information, interacting with the audience, referring to visuals, changing the topic, concluding, inviting questions, and dealing with questions.
Grammar: Articles. Countable and uncountable nouns. Noun compounds and noun phrases. Prefixes. Dependent prepositions.
Negotiations Module II
Expressions: Terms and conditions, concessions, diplomatically giving bad news or expressing disappointment, using speculative language, being vague, playing for time, confirming phrases and questions, dealing with misunderstandings and conflict, and reaching agreements.
Grammar: -ing forms and infinitives II. Deﬁning and non-deﬁning clauses.
Business Cases II (3 hours)
Description: Social English. Marketing and Sales. Strategy.
Expressions: Starting and finishing conversations, invitations, and questions for networking.
Grammar: Conditionals II. Rhetorical devices.
